Consistency

Introduction.  (I Corinthians 4:16,17) Those who are inconsistent are:
• Hypocrites - (Matthew 7:3-5) • Liars - (I John 2:4,5)
• Unprofitable Servants - (James 2:14-17)
I. Consistency Is A Quality Towards Which We Should Aspire.
  1. Jesus was Consistent. (Luke 4:16; Hebrews 13:8)
  2. God the Father is Consistent (I Cor. 10:13)
  3. Faithful Saints are Consistent.
    1. John. (Mark 14:50; John 19:25-27)
    2. Paul. (Acts 17:2; Galatians 2:11-14)
    3. Timothy. (I Corinthians 4:17)
II. We May Be Inconsistent By...
  1. ·Hearing the Truth, but not Doing It. (James 1:21-25; Revelation 1:3)
  2. ·Speaking the Truth, but not Doing It.(Matthew 23:1-5; Romans 2:21-24)
  3. ·Acting Religious but Failing to Bridle Our Tongue. (James 1:26)
  4. ·Claiming to Love God but Hating our Brethren. (I John 4:20)
  5. ·Claiming to Love Others but Failing to Help Them.  (I John 4:17,18)
  6. ·Claiming the Bible as Our Standard, but Living Based on Our Feelings.  (John 12:47,48; II John 9)
